Hungary and being an Immigrant
January 18th at 7:30pm
We are very glad to invite you to a talk by the poet George Szirtes at our next meeting on Wednesday January 18th at the Charing Cross Centre from 7:30pm.
George was born in Hungary and was brought to England as a child during the uprising in 1956.
Since then he has become one of our foremost poets, winning among many awards the T. S. Eliot prize for poetry as well as being acclaimed for his translations from Hungarian.
His talk will be about Hungary today, its recent history and his own experiences as an immigrant to the UK.
We hope very much that you will be able to come.
