On Tuesday 12th December at 7:00pm, the Octagon will host a candlelit fundraising concert in aid of New Routes.
There will also be a range of readings, poetry and song.
Its aims are as follows:
- To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.
- To develop the capacity and skills of the disadvantaged minority ethnic individuals and communities of Norwich to support the fulfilment of potential and enable active involvement in society.
- To contribute towards social and racial cohesion by building positive images and new connections among people of different backgrounds; thereby integrating marginalised people into the wider community.
More information can be found on their website: http://newroutes.org.uk/
The theme is ‘Have Hope’ and will include a range of readings, poems and songs.
Octagon members, New Routes participants and students from Framingham Earl High School will all contribute at various points during the evening.
Audience members will be invited to add their voice to favourites such as We Shall Overcome, Jerusalem, Gentle Angry People and You’ll Never Walk Alone. Inspiring pieces in a beautiful setting.
Tickets £6 for adults and £4.50 for concessions, with all money raised going straight to the charity.
