Response to our Amnesty International AGM 2020 Resolution Submission

I wanted to share with you the message we have received from AIUK regarding the resolution on Kashmir to the AGM in the name of the Norwich Group.

Thank you for recently submitting a resolution for consideration at the AIUK Section 2020 AGM. Your resolution has been accepted by the Standing Orders Committee and scheduled for the next AGM.

The Section Board met last week to consider the impact of the global pandemic and social distancing on the AGM. You will not be surprised to hear that it was decided that in the interest of safety based on what is presently understood about the pandemic the June AGM and National Conference would need to be postponed. The Board has agreed to  review the situation at their next  scheduled Board meeting in May and will consider the various options available to them at that point.

As your resolution has been submitted within the deadline and accepted by the SOC it will automatically be included with the resolutions to be considered by the membership at the next AGM and National Conference.”
